An unofficial reader’s listening index to Love Saves the Day: A
History of American Dance Music Culture, 1970–1979 by Tim Lawrence
(Duke University Press, 2003).
Every record here comes from Lawrence’s own Selected Discography, which
lists all of the recordings the book refers to — artist, title, label and
year, with albums in italic against singles in roman. This guide only puts them
back in the order he names them, and adds the sentence that introduces each one.
Links run YouTube searches, so they resolve in any country. Records belong to
their artists and labels. Jacket artwork remains the property of its rights
holders; the light on these pages is original work in its idiom.
